Underarm hair is coarse, dark, and densely packed, which makes it one of the most responsive areas to diode laser treatment. Most clients see a visible drop in density after two or three sessions and reach 70–90% permanent reduction by the end of a full course.
We treat both underarms in a single fifteen-minute appointment. The handpiece cools the skin to around 4°C as it fires, so what you feel is a warm snap rather than a burn. Numbing cream is available if you want it, though very few people ask for it on this area.
A note on timing: shave the night before, do not wax or epilate for four weeks beforehand, and skip deodorant on the day of your appointment.
Before your session
Shave the area 12–24 hours before your appointment — the laser targets the follicle under the skin, not the hair above it, and stubble on the surface only absorbs energy that should be going deeper.
Do not wax, pluck, or epilate for four weeks before a session. Removing the root removes the target. Come with clean skin, no deodorant or antiperspirant on the day.
After your session
Expect mild redness and small raised bumps around the follicles for a few hours — that reaction is the treatment working.
For 48 hours: no saunas, hot tubs, or hot yoga, no heavy sweating, and no fragranced deodorant. Use an unscented antiperspirant or none at all. Shedding starts around day 7 and looks like regrowth — it is not. Exfoliate gently to help it along.

How many underarm sessions will I need?
Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Underarm hair is coarse and dark, so it responds faster than fine hair elsewhere on the body. We give you a realistic number at your free patch test based on your hair type, not an average.
Can I use deodorant after laser?
Wait 48 hours, then use an unscented antiperspirant. Fragranced products on freshly treated skin are the most common cause of irritation after an underarm session.
Does underarm laser hurt?
Most people rate it 2 or 3 out of 10 — a warm rubber-band snap. The contact cooling on the handpiece chills the skin before and after each pulse, and the area is small enough that the whole session is over in about fifteen minutes.
